Volvo XC90

This is the leftfield (and cheaper) choice to a BMW X5, Range Rover or Mercedes-Benz M-Class. It's Volvo's first proper 4x4 and it makes a good case for itself as a luxury car, rather than a working vehicle. But it has one trick that its rivals lack: seven-seater practicality.

Very well equipped. All models have climate control, a CD player, cruise control and alloy wheels, SE gets a CD autochanger, leather upholstery, wood trim and electric folding mirrors. Luxury Executive gains a DVD player and a fridge.
