Volkswagen Bora

Bora is a good all-rounder and injects some much-needed style into the small family saloon sector. It’s based on the Golf, so shares some its best attributes, like a pleasant interior, direct steering and some punchy PD diesel engines for performance and economy. The only thorn in its side is Seat's Toledo, which offers the same, while undercutting it on the new and used markets.

S, SE, 16V, ST, SPORT, V5, TDI

S has heated elec mirrors, height adjust-able driver’s seat/steering wheel, remote tailgate release; SE adds seat height/lumbar adjustment for driver and passenger, trip computer, velour upholstery, upgraded audio, auto screen-wipe with rain sensor, self-dipping rear view mirror, 16" wheels. 2.0 SE has traction control. 2.0 and TDi 110/115 also offered with Sport pack: 16" six-spoke alloys with anti-theft bolts, front fog lights, upholstery and sports seats as in the Golf GTi, walnut gearknob and trim. 2.3 V5 and 4MOTION have equipment similar to Sport plus automatic climate control.
