Toyota Corolla Estate

The new Corolla builds on the old one's reputation for dependability but loses the dull image. The estate looks good, has a decent luggage capacity and comes well equipped for a sensible price. Small range of engines and trim might put some people off.

Entry-level T2 models have electric front windows, CD stereo and remote central locking. T3 adds colour keyed side mouldings and air-conditioning. T-Spirit gets electric rear windows, dark metallic fascia and climate control. Top-of-the-range T Sport models gain vehicle stability, brake assist, sports grille, sports seats and a chrome and leather-trimmed gearknob.
