Peugeot 4007

Peugeot (and sister company Citroën) has teamed up with Mitsubishi to provide customers with a 4x4 model for the first time. The 4007 is built by Mitsubishi and is based on the Japanese company's 2007 Outlander model. Peugeot has added some unique styling details, and a strong 2.2-litre diesel engine. The 4007 comes as an occasional seven-seater with a small third row bench that folds completely flat, and not many owners are expected to venture off road in them. There is a two wheel drive setting and two four-wheel drive modes which are selected by the driver. Only high specification versions are available, which means list prices are rather high compared with many 4x4 rivals, but by the same token, the cars are well equipped.

SE models come with 16-inch alloy wheels, automatic climate control, cruise control, roof bars, alarm, trip computer, electrically adjustable/folding door mirrors, electronic stability control and radio/CD with MP3 playback. GT models add 18-inch alloys, leather seats, CD autochanger, rear parking sensors, dark tinted rear windows, xenon headlamps and an electrically adjustable and heated drivers seat. Options include metallic pain, satellite navigation with hard disk music storage and a rear-view camera, and a Bluetooth hands-free phone kit, available on both SE and GT models.
