The 3.0-litre V6 petrol engine offers strong performance almost from tickover, even with the optional auto gearbox installed. But the 2.5-litre turbodiesel is low-geared giving it nearly as much pull as the V6 and great low-rev strength. However it soon runs out of puff becoming coarse and noisy.

Only the lowest trim level does without alloy wheels and air-conditioning. All models get a sunroof and four electric windows, but for a CDplayer and leather you’ll have to upgrade to a Warrior. Safety kit is basic at best.
