Kia Sedona

The latest Kia Sedona is better to drive and more versatile than before, but still offers great value alongside more mainstream large people carrier choices like the Ford Galaxy and Renault Espace. Engines are improved with most buyers expected to choose the uprated 2.9 turbodiesel with 185bhp. It's shorter than the previous Sedona, making it less daunting around town and the diesel is refined. As is the case with most people carriers, luggage space is compromised when all seven seats are in use, but seven adults can be accommodated comfortably and access to the third row is easy. Diesel auto is the best combination, while medium specification LS models have electric sliding rear doors. It's a shame the styling isn't more adventurous, both inside and out, but at these prices the Sedona still makes a strong case for itself.

CRDI, TS, GS, LS

GS models come with steel wheels, CD/radio, three-zone air conditioning (separate controls for front, middle and rear rows of seats), four electric windows with electrically-operated rear quarter vents, remote central locking, electrically-adjustable door mirrors, 10 cup holders, six airbags and a small flip-down 'conversation mirror' to keep an eye on children in the rear seats. LS models add alloy wheels, heated door mirrors, privacy glass, rear parking sensors, automatic climate control, leather covered steering wheel, front seat-back tables, front fog lamps, electric sliding rear doors and four extra cup holders. TS models add larger alloys, electric folding door mirrors, cruise control, leather upholstery, active head restraints, an eight-way electrically-adjustable driver's seat and heated front seats.

2.9 CRTD
