Honda CR-V

Honda recognises the fact that most people want an off-roader because it gives them a better view of the road, and if the weather turns bad it will cope with slippery conditions. They also want it to look more interesting than a humdrum saloon and the CR-V fits the bill perfectly. Honda haven't wasted any time or money developing a car that can cope with the Yukon trail when it only needs to cope with the odd grass verge but it has all the ability it's likely to need and some thoughtful touches to boot.

VTEC, SE, CTDI, SPORT

SE has air-conditioning, ABS with electronic brake distribution, driver, passenger and side airbags, electric front and rear windows, electric mirrors, immobiliser, remote central locking, five three-point seatbelts and a radio/CD player. SE Sport adds climate control in place of air-conditioning, an electric sunroof, headlight washers, colour-coded bumpers and a hard spare wheel cover.
