Daihatsu Terios

The second generation Terios is larger and more upmarket than the car it replaces with room for four adults, but is still one of the most compact and affordable off-roaders on the market. It offers a good alternative for buyers who would have considered the previous Toyota RAV4 or Suzuki Grand Vitara (both of which have now grown in size and running cost). With permanent four-wheel drive it's very capable off-road. It can also keep up with flowing traffic and feels stable on the road, but the relative lack of power makes it unsuitable for serious towing or high speed use.

S,SX,SE

The three model line-up starts with the S. It's equipped with air conditioning, central locking, CD player, tinted glass, electric windows front and rear, plus electric adjustment for the door mirrors. The SX model adds alloy wheels, rear privacy glass, a rear spoiler, an on-board computer, wheel arch extensions to cover its extra wide tyres, fog lamps and heated mirrors and windscreen. The SE model is available only with automatic transmission. Its spec is similar to that on the SX but without the wheel arch extensions as its tyres are slightly narrower.
