Audi S4 Saloon

The latest A4 tries harder than ever to be a credible alternative to the class-leading 3-Series and C-Class. Although it looks very similar to the outgoing model, every body panel has changed and there's a new, more aggressive, look for the front end. There are also some new engine options, new gearboxes and the suspension has been redesigned along with other elements of the chassis. Comfort and safety equipment has also been revised. This is an evolution compared to BMW's recent 3-Series revolution. The formula is essentially unchanged but the A4 now has some extra polish to keep it on top of its game. It can't better its rivals, but neither does it give anything away - a very worthy contender.

QUATTRO, FSI, TDI

The equipment tally is pretty generous - all models get alloy wheels, traction control, dual zone climate control and electric windows and mirrors.
